Fed by spontaneous inspiration and a keen feel for dramatic flow, George creates exotic, atmospheric soundworlds and emotionally rich songs with seasoned, intuitive skill. For over three decades he has worked across a wide arc of genres ranging from popular music to soaring, progressive rock and on into the world of uniquely crafted sonic vistas. What Others Say
"Light Music (72'23") is an album made by a man who feels that music matters most. George Wallace believes he can touch magic, if the dream is worthy enough. Wallace stands for the idea that while music may be conceived and made in a studio, once it is released into the world, it serves only as raw material for the thought process. Judged solely as a New Age album, Light Music delivers the goods. A marvel of nunanced expressiveness, this album is also a beautiful journey through Wallace's subconscious mind. His work has always been fed by ideas outside of his art, and Wallace incorporates his freshest discoveries into Light Music..." Read more...

After many years of accomplished work, we now see George Wallace's Soul Ascending. With spacey influences like Michael Stearns and Jonn Serrie, Wallace's compositions mingle just as nicely among those by multi-instrumentalists Jade Warrior and Mike Oldfield. As much a student as he is a master Wallace uses the techniques of the prominent to assert his own identity...

This is a terrific album of powerful electronica with a little techno-tribalism thrown in. No namby-pamby "new age" tunes here (pay no attention to the category label that iTunes assigned it to). This is a gorgeously produced album that will be in rotation on my playlist for a while.

Soul Ascending is a pleasure to listen to. It’s diverse without straining; each piece is strong on its own and moves the whole forward. Wallace shows a solid feel for setting a scene and telling a story within the few minutes he allows each song. While I prefer the simpler side of his work, pretty much everything here hits. Be sure to check this one out.
